Congratulations to Attorney James L. Walker, Jr.,  managing partner of J. Walker and Associates, LLP, who has been honored this week as one of Billboard Magazine’s Top Entertainment Attorneys for 2024.

This marks the second consecutive year Attorney Walker has received this prestigious recognition, reflecting his exceptional contributions to the entertainment industry.

Attorney James L. Walker, Jr. has built a distinguished career in the entertainment industry, wearing multiple hats as a legal expert, advocate, and entrepreneur. As the owner of J. Walker and Associates, LLP, his practice spans entertainment law, television/film/theater contracts, intellectual property, tax, non-profits, real estate, litigation, business, and corporate law.

👉 He has represented high-profile personalities like Soledad O’Brien, Jamie Foxx, Kerry Gordy, DMX, Aretha Franklin, K Camp, Take 6, Koryn Hawthorne, Mikki Howard, Patti Labelle, Keke Wyatt, Shirley Caesar, DJ Jay Knix, DJ Darlene McCoy, and DJ Willie Moore, Jr. Notably, he resolved a significant dispute involving his artist and Jay-Z over the song ‘Family Affair’ and won the Take 6 vs. H.E.R. settlement in the Southern District of New York.

As an investor and part of the producer investor team with Alia Jones and Stephen Byrd of Front Row Productions, he has invested in numerous Broadway plays and musicals, including The Temptations, Camelot, Piano Lessons, Sinatra, Here Lies Love, and three showings of MJ The Musical.
